• The objective of this website is to advance comprehensive HIV care, and to improve the health and quality of life for HIV-infected persons in the Chugoku-Shikoku region by providing up-to-date information regarding HIV infection.

The Hiroshima Prefectural Government has contracted for funded research with Hiroshima University, and the staff of Hiroshima University Hospital is in charge of the actual operation.

"ACT-kun" is the mascot of Chugoku-Shikoku Regional AIDS Center, which stands for "AIDS Care Team". The motif of the dove, a symbol of peace and hope, is intended to create an emotional connection among patients, medical professionals, and the general public.
Wearing a red ribbon, ACT-kun will cross the Seto Inland Sea, firmly uniting friends in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions with a strong bond.
